One brave young man, Sacha Heppell, decided to try to become the first Broncos male cheerleader in the team's history.

The energetic Heppell entered into a competition that has long been dominated by attractive young females, but that didn't seem to slow him down. He was one of 200 applicants who showed up to the open audition, according to Teresa Shear, the Broncos' director of cheerleaders.

I'm going to try out to be the first male Broncos cheerleader. Ever. Heppell told KDSK. It's huge. I'm excited, totally thrilled. No male has ever made it through auditions. I don't even know if a male made it to the auditions.

Although lacking formal dance experience - which was apparent in the video below -- he showed off his best moves while dancing to the tune of Pitbull's International Love, while others looked on.

Unfortunately for Heppell, he didn't accomplish his dream of becoming the first Broncos male cheerleader. It seems that the Broncos decided to keep with tradition and tab some of the most beautiful women in the world to become cheerleaders, but Heppell isn't giving up just yet.

I'm a little disappointed; I gave it all I got. I just didn't make the cut, he said. But I will be back next year.
