Juan Gonzalez, the 45-year-old man who lost his wife and daughter in a horrific accident on Sunday when a SUV crashed on the grounds of the Bronx Zoo, killing seven people, is devastated and says he wants to die.

I lost my family - what can I say? I don't want to be here. I want to die,'' Gonzalez told the New York Post.

Police said Maria Gonzalez, 45, was driving the vehicle that fell more than 50 feet off a Bronx highway overpass on Sunday. The accident claimed the lives of her daughter, Jocelyn, 10, and her parents Jacob Nunez, 85, and Ana Julia Martinez, 81, both from the Dominican Republic; Maria Nunez, 39; and Niely Rosario, 7, and Marly Rosario, 3, both daughters of Nunez.

Maria Gonzalez worked at Fordham University.

Police are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.

What is known at this time is that the Honda Pilot was traveling southbound on the Bronx River Parkway when it veered onto other lanes around 12:30 p.m. The vehicle crossed all three southbound lanes, went airborne and over the guardrail before landing onto a secluded area of the Bronx Zoo.

The New York Fire Department was called about the accident at 13:21 p.m. Sunday and responded with 12 units and 65 firefighters. The victims had to be extricated from the vehicle, FDNY spokesman Jim Long said.

Everybody was taken aback by it because everybody has a relative, FDNY Deputy Chief Howard Sickles told ABC News. Everybody knows a child, everybody has a grandparent. And you can see the emotion on everybody. It's very upsetting.
