Actor Nicholas Brendon, 43, is facing charges in Boise, Idaho, after allegedly breaking a decorative plate in a hotel lobby. The Los Angeles, California-born actor rose to fame in the late 1990s for playing the role of goofy Xander Harris on TV's “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Brendon was in town to attend the first annual Tree City Comic Con, but was picked up by police around 10:40 p.m. Friday, the Ada County Sheriff’s office said.

The actor was charged with two misdemeanor counts -- resisting or obstructing officers and malicious injury to property. Police officials were called to the scene after the hotel staff reported disturbances in the lobby.

Brendon "showed signs of intoxication and repeatedly refused officers commands to stay seated as officers tried to speak to witnesses," police said.

Hotel workers say he broke a decorative dish, and police said additional charges are possible.

This isn’t the first time the “Buffy” star has had run-ins with the law. Brendon has a history of alcohol abuse and checked himself into a rehabilitation center in 2004. He served a second stint in rehab in 2010 after being charged with resisting arrest and two counts of battery against a police officer.
