Wednesday, Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute announced that the consumer price index or CPI rose 4.8% year-over-year in April, slower than the 4.9% increase in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.7% in April, after falling 0.2% in March.

The harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP rose 3.8% on an annual basis in April. The HICP was up 0.5% compared to the preceding month.
