Bundesbank Vice President Sabine Lautenschlaeger said on Tuesday in an interview with Die Welt newspaper that although providing liquidity to European banks by central banks is an important matter, some banks that suffer to raise fund during calm times must provide collateral for the liquidity of the euro system when they secure central bank money.

Thus, she distinguished between two kinds of banks, highlighting that pumping liquidity will not solve solvency problem but just help in calming down tensions in the inter-banking market.
