Last night's NBA action featured plenty of excitement. Antonio McDyess scored a tip-in basket at the buzzer to lift the San Antonio Spurs over the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James scored a season-high 51 to lead the Miami Heat over the Orlando Magic.

McDyess' tipped in his buzzer-beating basket off of a miss by Tim Duncan. McDyess positioned himself well for the rebound by boxing out Lakers forward Lamar Odom and out-jumping Kobe Bryant who nearly batted the ball away. Here is video courtesy of the NBA.

McDyess' offensive rebound on the play was his second of that possession, and he finished the game with eight points and eight rebounds.

Earlier in the evening, LeBron James put on quite the show in Orlando, scoring nearly half of the Heat's point in a 104-100 win. James finished with 51 points over all and added 11 assists and eight rebounds to almost notch a triple-double.

Most impressive though was James' start to the game. He hit his first 11 shots and scored 23 of Miami's 30 points in the first quarter. Here's a video of his hot start.

Prior to the game, Orlando center Dwight Howard mocked James' famous pregame ritual of throwing chalk into the air, leading to The Basketball Jones' Trey Kerby to humorously speculate that James' scoring outburst was purely a response to a perceived slight made by Howard.
