According to the New York times, an accused taxi driver in one of New York City's largest cab frauds, arrested 3 weeks ago in Kansas City, Mo., was returned to the city. Driver, Wasim Khalid Cheema is charged with defrauding nearly $12,000 from more than 2,500 passengers. Last year, investigators revoked Mr. Cheema's taxi driver's license after accusing him of setting his meter at a rate double the city rate, one used for trips to the suburbs. The Taxi and Limousine Commission began a wider investigation after making those accusations. Since, 45 cabdrivers have pleaded guilty of the scheme.
