“I Am Cait” star Caitlyn Jenner wants to complete her transition with gender reassignment surgery, In Touch Weekly wrote in an exclusive report Wednesday. The former Olympian turned reality star skirted around the question when it was proposed on her E! docu-series.

It’s been more than a year since the 66-year-old revealed her true identity as Caitlyn. Months after coming out in Vanity Fair, she wants to undergo the surgery. “She’s turning 67 in October and is looking at this as a birthday present to herself,” an insider told In Touch Weekly. “She’s been talking to her doctors and she’s finally ready.”

Jenner is confident about her decision to move forward with the surgery. “She already feels like a woman both mentally and physically, but she wants to do this,” the source said.

Even though she’s ready, her daughters, Kendall and Kylie, aren’t. “The girls still feel abandoned and betrayed. It’s a sad situation,” a source told Radar Online Wednesday. “Caitlyn underwent many surgeries right away, and the whole process has been very difficult for her, physically and emotionally. Sadly, she doesn’t feel like she can confide in anyone during her time of need.”

While Jenner is apparently ready to move forward with the procedure, author Ian Halperin told the Wrap in May the former Olympic decathlete may de-transition and become Bruce again. “It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn; it’s been very hard,” Halperin said.

“She’s thrilled she has raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against, but I think there’s a chance she’ll de-transition in the next couple years,” the author said. “I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated.” He added: “One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of ‘sex change regret,’ hinting she might go back to being Bruce Jenner.”
