Caleb Logan Bratayley would have turned 14 years old this week. The late YouTube star, who died last October at the age of 13, was honored in touching tributes his family posted on social media to celebrate his birthday.

In an Instagram post Wednesday, Caleb’s birthday, his mom Katelyn wrote that she, her two daughters and husband celebrated his birthday by visiting some of his favorite restaurants including IHOP and Texas Roadhouse. “Today we celebrate Caleb’s 14th birthday at a few meaningful places,” she posted. “Thanks for all of your support on this very special day. #celebratelife.”

In another post, Caleb’s dad Billy shared a throwback photo of his son as a little boy sitting on his lap. “Happy Birthday my little baby boy. You helped me learn to enjoy life,” he wrote. “I watched you grow into a great kid. I was the first and the last to hold you in my arms and I will hold you in my heart forever. You will always be the ‘peach of the family.’ I love you #celebratelife.”

Caleb died suddenly on Oct. 1 after being rushed to a Maryland hospital following a medical emergency. His family confirmed the death in an Instagram post saying that he died from “natural causes.” In November, the family gave another update sharing that Caleb’s cause of death was from an undetected heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. According to People magazine, the condition runs in the Bratayley family and causes the hearts muscles to become abnormally large making it difficult for the heart to work properly.

In an Instagram post Katelyn wrote that the heart condition went undiagnosed during her son’s yearly checkups, and he never had any symptoms. “The doctor said there was nothing we could have done differently,” she wrote. “The sadness of losing someone you love is unimaginable. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, your kindness and support continues to help our family. We miss our baked potato everyday. #Calebratelife #Celebratelife.”

The family also took to his YouTube page to share several tribute videos highlighting his life. In one video, titled “Dear Future Self,” Caleb talked about what he would ask his future self. In another YouTube tribute, titled “Caleb, Gone But Never Forgotten,” a video montage shows Caleb hanging out with his family before touching messages from fans flash across the screen.
