"Call of Duty" fans got an early look at the franchise's next edition, “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,” when Sledgehammer Games rolled gameplay footage at this week's E3 2014. During a keynote presentation from Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) at the Los Angeles gaming conference Monday, a new trailer revealed the role that technology will play in the sci-fi shooter, due out in November.

The gameplay footage showcases an urban battle set in downtown Seoul in the year 2054, and a number of new gadgets that players will have to face off against. Soldiers rip the doors off of cars to protect against an oncoming swarm of drones, after leaping from a helicopter into a partially destroyed skyscraper.

The latest entry in the ultra-popular first-person shooter franchise stars Kevin Spacey, who will provide the likeness and voice of antagonist Jonathan Irons, a private military contractor run amok. Spacey’s Irons makes a very brief cameo in the “Advanced Warfare” gameplay footage screened at E3, but he played a larger role in the game’s announcement trailer.

Tuesday morning, on the “Call of Duty” official site, Sledgehammer Games offered a look at one of the multiplayer load-outs coming exclusively for players who preorder “Advanced Warfare.” The “Bullet Brass Exo” is an exo-suit that players can wear in multiplayer matches for an edge, giving their characters a brass look.

The “Bullet Brass Exo” will also give gamers engaging in multiplayer battles a special-edition M1 Quantum. The “Bullet Brass” version of the Quantum gives multiplayers “unlimited ammo,” should they be able to manage the new gun’s battery power, and prevent it from overheating.

What did you think of the “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” gameplay footage screened at E3? Are you looking forward to jumping into an “exo” for multiplayer matches this November, or are you disappointed the franchise now is basically indistinguishable from titles like “Destiny,” “Titanfall” and “Halo”?
