Camilla Parker Bowles will be queen when Prince Charles becomes king.

The Prince of Wales is set to take over the throne after Queen Elizabeth II. Initially, the palace announced that the Duchess of Cornwall will only be called princess consort when Prince Charles becomes the monarch. However, several sources have claimed that the future king would want his wife to be the queen too.

"I think that Prince Charles when king would want his wife’s title to reflect his new status," royal expert Joe Little said (as quoted by Express). "When the time comes I think we will have a Queen Camilla."

The public have already warmed up to Camilla as she has carried out royal duties with Prince Charles. Also, all the references calling Camilla as princess consort in the future were removed in the Clarence House website earlier this year.

"We’re 13 years on from the wedding and the public know much more about Camilla than they did then," Little added. "Clarence House's stance is that she will still be Princess Consort, yet that assertion no longer appears on their website."

Royal biographer Penny Junor also shares the same opinion. According to Junor, the Duke of Cornwall will surely make his wife, his queen.

"I have little doubt that Charles is so proud of Camilla, and so grateful for everything she has done for him and sacrificed for him, that he will insist she gets the full title," Junor wrote in "The Duchess: The Untold Story."

Aside from the two, James Brooke and Lord Norton of Louth agreed that Camilla' is destined to be the next queen. "Camilla will become Queen, there is no choice to make," Brooke told Express.

"Despite the public opinion started to change over the years, many are still very skeptical about Camilla, lot of people are antagonistic towards her and that's mainly down to the relationship and previous history with Diana," Brooke continued. "But while her becoming Queen could enrage some, a change in the constitution just for Camilla may get even more people very upset."

"Upon the death of the Queen, Charles automatically becomes King - that is it," Lord Norton added. "His wife will become Queen Consort, formally established by precedent."
