Canada released the consumer price index for the month of December, where the CPI came in flat, compared with the prior reported estimate of 0.1% and median estimates of 0.1% as well, while compared with a year earlier, CPI increased by 2.4%, compared with prior estimate of 2.0% and median estimates of 2.5%.

Core CPI, which excludes prices of food and energy, declined by 0.3%, compared with the prior flat estimate and median estimates of -0.1%, while compared with a year earlier, core CPI increased by 1.5%, compared with the prior reported rise of 1.4% and median estimates of 1.6%.
