Canada released the consumer price index for the month of June, where CPI fell by 0.7%, compared with the prior rise of 0.7% and below median estimates of -0.2%, while compared with a year earlier, CPI increased by 3.1%, well below the prior and expected estimates of 3.7% and 3.6% respectively.

Core CPI for June fell by 0.6% well below the prior rise of 0.5% and below median estimates for a flat estimate, while compared with year earlier, Core CPI eased to 1.3%, compared with the prior rise of 1.8% and below median estimates of 1.9%.
