Canada released the consumer price index for the month of September, where CPI increased by 0.2%, compared with the prior rise of 0.3% and in line with median estimates, while compared with a year earlier, CPI increased to 3.2%, from the prior and expected estimates of 3.1%.

Core CPI, which excludes prices of food and energy, increased by 0.5% in September, compared with the prior rise of 0.4% and higher than median estimates of 0.2%, while compared with a year earlier, Core CPI increased to 2.2%, compared with the prior and expected estimates of 1.9% and 2.0% respectively.
