Canada's international securities transactions bounce up in February

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Canadians have increased sharply the volume of investment in foreign securities in February, while non residents have acquired the largest amount of Canadian securities since April 2007, according to data released by Statcan.

Canadians increased their holdings of foreign securities by C$ 6.1 billion in February, with a strong rebound of the investment in foreign stocks and bonds.

Non residents have acquired C$3.8 billion of Canadian securities on the month, the largest purchase since April 2007, dollar-denominated outstanding bonds representing most of the investment.
