FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Prices of the new houses have slowed down their growing pace in April, posting the lower year on year increase of the last two years and a half, according to the latest Housing Prices Index by Statistics Canada.

In April, new houses have increased their prices 5.2% from the same month last year, down from the 6.1% decline posted in March. April's is the third consecutive deceleration on the year on year increase, and the lowest yearly increase since the 4.9% in September 2005.

Month on month, prices of new houses remained unchanged.
