FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Canadian retail sales for October came in near forecast at 0.8% and just below the 1.0% for September. With this report, retail sales hold positive ground for the third month in a row.

Excluding automobile purchases, retail sales only grew 0.2% in October, compared to 1.1% the previous month. The report released by Canada's national statistics office also confirm the third straight month of positive retail sales excluding the automobile sector, even though experts had expected a slightly higher figure of 0.5% for October.
