FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Wholesale trade has increased again in October in Canada despite a weak month for sales in the automotive sector, which could be offset by increasing sales in construction materials, to post the second consecutive monthly rise.
Sales rose 0.5% to a $49.3 billion in October following a 1.1% increase in September. By sectors, building materials posted the largest increase; 2.4% month on month, while sales in personal and household goods rose 0.8%.
On the negative side, automotive sales dropped 0.3% in October after a 0% increase in September. Excluding cars, sales of all the other products rose 0.7%.
