Aunt May could feature in the upcoming Marvel film “Captain America: Civil War.” Heroic Hollywood has reported that Marisa Tomei, who has been cast in the role of Aunt May, has secretly filmed the scenes for the much-awaited “Captain America” sequel.

The speculations in regard to Aunt May’s appearance in the film started earlier this year. Heroic Hollywood has also predicted that Aunt May could appear in a scene, which could potentially take place in Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) room.

There is no confirmation to Aunt May’s appearance in the film. However, according to Cinema Blend, an Atlanta TV channel had revealed the props, which were likely used for Parker’s bedroom. This has ripened the speculation that Tomei could pop up in a scene where Parker is in his room.

The Wrap earlier reported that the Oscar winning actress had been offered the role, and Sony Pictures was in final negotiations with the actress.

Rosemary Harris previously played the role of Aunt May in the 2002’s “Spider-Man” film, starring Toby Maguire. Sally Field played the character in “Amazing Spider-Man” series, which starred Andrew Garfield in the lead role. In the comics, Aunt May is Parker’s guardian, who takes care of Parker as his mother. She nurtures and supports Parker, and is unaware of his Spider-Man identity. The character, which was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, first appeared in comic “Amazing Fantasy” No 15.

Meanwhile, “Captain America: Civil War” has reportedly wrapped shooting in Atlanta. The movie will see formation of two groups of Avengers, one headed by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and another by Captain America (Chris Evans). It is set to be released on May 6, 2016 in 3D and IMAX.
