- ediEnterprise judged best global cloud solution for German logistics provider-
Milton Keynes, UK, December 22, 2011 - CargoWise®, a global technology leader for logistics service providers today announced it has signed a comprehensive agreement to implement its market leading ediEnterprise solution with Senator International, one of Germany's largest privately owned logistics service providers. The agreement encompasses more than 1000 individual users across Senator's global business.
Based in Hamburg, Germany, Senator is a global provider of logistics solutions focusing on Air & Sea cargo, Logistics Warehousing, Fourth Party Logistics and Packaging, with services including supply chain management, customs clearance, event logistics and express services. Having its own offices in Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, UK, USA, Latin America and Asia augmented by strong alliances with exclusive partners, Senator provides a truly global service.
With state-of-the-art and highly efficient IT capabilities being key to Senator's strategy of building a global business, the company realized its existing system could not adequately service its future business needs.
Senator Managing Director Tim-Oliver Kirschbaum said, We needed a powerful globally capable system that would both support localization as well as allow for integration across our global operations. It was also important that our new solution utilize Cloud-based technology to allow for easy integration and user efficiency with our partners & key clients.
After a comprehensive tender process and deep product capability analysis, we chose CargoWise and its ediEnterprise solution as it stood out well above any other vendor or solution. We need an agile partner with a proven growth and product capability with global capability and a flexible customer controlled on-demand licensing approach that would accommodate the demands of our worldwide operations.
We felt CargoWise's hosted ediEnterprise platform was the best solution which could meet the requirements set by our determined drive to remain an independent player in a period of consolidation in the logistics industry, explained Mr. Kirschbaum.
Simon Clark, VP Business Development Europe for CargoWise commented, We are delighted to have been selected by Senator after a very comprehensive process. Our single global platform technology will provide the increased efficiencies and visibility required to meet their future business. Senator have shown IT and business leadership in selecting our Cloud based, On Demand model, which has become increasingly popular as our customers become more attuned to the simplicity and cost savings over conventional license/on premises models. Our now sizable German customer base and commitment to the German market is one key focus area for our European expansion strategy.
