COPENHAGEN - Danish brewer Carlsberg will concentrate beer production in Britain at its Northampton brewery, which it will expand, the company said on Wednesday.

Carlsberg said in a statement the investments would increase capacity at the brewery to 6 million hectolitres per year from 4.5 million and would support the transfer of lager production from its Leeds brewery, which it has planned to close in 2011.

Carlsberg said the work would be completed by mid-2011.
