Carnie Wilson is now speaking out against Howard Stern’s propensity to fat-shame. The Wilson Philips singer even claims that the radio and television personality enjoys fat-shaming people.

During Wilson’s appearance on “The Talk” on Tuesday, she opened up about the time Stern intentionally fat-shamed her on his show. “Just because he loves to fat-shame, he does,” the 49-year-old said. “You know the way Howard is, always glamouring up all these thin women.”

Dishing more details about the embarrassing moment, Wilson revealed that Stern made rude comments when she appeared on the latter’s show in 1999. Nine weeks prior, the singer underwent gastric bypass surgery for she was struggling with her weight and body image.

According to Wilson, Stern and the producer orchestrated a vile way for her to reveal her weight post-surgery. She recalled being asked by the producer to step onto something while waiting for her cue. Apparently, that something turned out to be a scale. “I looked up because in red, big numbers, 233 pounds showed up on this thing,” she said. “They purposely did it.”

Entertainment Tonight found an audio recording of the interview, and Wilson was right when she said that Stern intentionally fat-shamed her. In the audio, the comedian can be heard telling her guest, “There’s something wrong here … No guy’s going to go out with a broad who looks like this.”

Wilson was taken aback by Stern’s words, but she managed to respond to him, saying, “That is so rude! That’s so mean to say.”

However, Stern insisted on his opinion and said, “No it is not! You were in terrible shape. No man is going to be attracted [to you].” Stern even went as far as to predict that Wilson’s relationship with then-fiancé Rob Bonfiglio would soon end.

Wilson did not let Stern get away with his rude comments though. “This is what happened, I always get Howard by the cajones. I said, ‘You know what, you’re really a piece … This man really loves me, and that scale can just [go screw itself],’” she said.

Though Wilson’s brave comeback prompted Stern to say that he “adores” her for that, she admitted that she still felt devastated about it. “It’s like a joke to him, but it wasn’t to me. It was one of the worst experiences I ever had. I was so devastated and so embarrassed. Humiliated really,” she said, adding that Rob, who is now her husband, had bought her yellow roses at the time just to make her feel better.
