Casey Anthony might be in southern California.

The 25-year-old woman, who was just released from a Florida prison after being acquitted of charges of killing her daughter, is probably in the Los Angeles area, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

Anthony’s lawyers had complained that their client has received many death threats and are trying to keep a lid on information about her whereabouts.

Still, various reports suggest that after she departed the Orlando-area jail in Florida she boarded a plane for California.

On Tuesday, NBC reported that Anthony was on a plane owned by one of her former attorneys, Todd Macaluso, who is based in California. The plane’s flight records show that the plane landed at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, after stopping off in Panama City, Fla.; Prescott, Ariz., and Northern California.

Macaluso’s law firm is located in Carlsbad, Cal., near San Diego.

Meanwhile, Leonard Padilla, a bounty hunter, told KOVR television station: “I've said that she's down and around in the Palm Springs area, the Los Angeles area, I believe. The airplane that she left Florida in belongs to a fellow, an attorney, that was involved in the case, and he's down in that area; he's got a couple places down in that area.

However, Macaluso told San Diego’s 10News that he doesn’t know where Casey is.

“It’s a closely guarded secret I’m not part of,” Macaluso said. “I don’t even want to know.”
