Profile
Jack Caldwell is a retired civil engineer who was born and brought up on the mines of South Africa. He earned his degrees on scholarships from mining companies and he has mostly earned his salary working for mining companies.
Now he spends half the year in Vancouver, BC and half in Huntington Beach, CA and writes about the nooks and crannies of mining for InfoMine, TechnoMine, and I THINK MINING. Sometimes he is called in by staff-strapped mines to consult on the geotechnics of mining, waste rock dumps, tailings impoundments, and water on mines. His kids still need financial support, so he is, perforce, still interested in investing and making money—from mining if possible.
