Actress Cate Blanchett's geometrical attire created more flurry than her Chekov play Uncle Vanya that opened at New York's Lincoln Center Festival over the weekend.

The 43-year-old actress wore black and white attire with a liberal dose of bold geometrical pattern on the front and back panel, the Daily Mail reported.

The attire was perfectly teamed with a clutch bag that bore prints similar to the pattern in her dress. The black stilettos with bow front detail complemented the actress who had her blonde hair tied up smartly.

Blanchett's husband Andrew Upton adapted the play Uncle Vanya for the stage that is cited as a labor of love for the couple, who met when the actress was performing in another play, The Seagull, in 1996.

Despite her work with the Sydney Theatre Company, the organizers of the play and which she took over in 2008, Blanchett has close to seven movie projects in hand. She stars with Christian Bale and Natalie Portman in Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups, and has also signed up for Woody Allen's next.

Another project that bears official stamp is Skinny and Cat, set for 2014 release, starring Blanchett opposite Colin Firth.
