Caterpillar Inc and Navistar International Corp said on Thursday they closed a transaction creating a joint venture to produce commercial trucks for Asia, Africa and South America.

The NC2 Global venture, which results from a deal the two U.S. companies announced in June 2008, will make and sell trucks for Australia, Brazil, China, Russia, South Africa and Turkey.
