CBS sitcom “Mike & Molly” is pulling the finale episode scheduled to air Monday in wake of the Oklahoma tornado that destroyed buildings, schools and homes Monday afternoon. The comedy, which stars “Bridesmaids” actress Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell, had a storyline that involved a tornado for its finale. The description, according to Mashable, is as follows:

"Mike and Carl get stuck working at the Renaissance Faire after their boss, Patrick, gets dumped by Mike's mother. Later, as a tornado descends on Chicago, Ill., Mike and Molly confess important news to each other, on the third season finale." On its Twitter account, the show posted, “Due to the tragic events in Oklahomea, 2nite’s season finale of #MikendMolly, which has a related storyline, will be pre-empted by a repeat [sic].”

It is unclear how much damage was done in the massive Oklahoma tornado, but it has claimed at least 51 lives, the Oklahoma state medical examiner said. Numerous celebrities reacted to the tragic event, such as professional boxer Floyd Mayweather, who wrote on Twitter, “My heart goes out to everyone feeling the impact of the tornadoes in the OKC area. Stay safe and #PrayforOklahoma.”

This is not the first time a hit show has been pulled after a devastating event. ABC temporarily pulled the winter season finale of "Scandal" from its online viewing lineup back in December. The episode, titled "Blown Away," features the murder of an entire family, including two children, and was pulled due to the tragic Sandy Hook Massacre.
