CD Projekt Red has released a big patch for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One: It features numerous improvements in the critically acclaimed role-playing game, as well as some bug fixes. Fans of the video game are familiar with its other patches -- usually associated with its downloadable content (DLC) -- but the fact that this one requires 7 gigabytes (GB) of space shows it is a little more important than previous ones.

In the CD Projekt Red forums, the game developer revealed just how many changes and improvements were made in the game: It is a massive list filled with details that may surprise gamers unaware of the relevant issues. Said gamers will probably be relieved at the numerous bugs fixed that had sometimes had the effect of foiling missions or preventing the lead character Geralt of Rivia from speaking to certain other characters.

One of the more interesting additions to the game is an alternative movement style for Geralt, which should please those who found the character’s style of moving a bit iffy. To enable the alternative style, players must go first to the gameplay menu and then to the movement response submenu.

A Polygon report confirmed that the “The Witcher 3” patch also has added some very handy stash locations for players who may have too many items in their inventories. This move will allow them to store items they don’t want to destroy or sell, but have to get rid of because of the lack of space. These stash locations will be marked on Geralt’s map, so players won’t have to spend hours searching for these items.

Adding these enhancements to the fact that all of “The Witcher 3” DLC will now be displayed on the game’s main menu makes it appear as if this huge patch will be well worth the 7 GB of space and the long download time. The patch can be downloaded immediately on the systems with the game.
