Every year A-list celebrities celebrate fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala.

This year, celebrities paid tribute to Alexander McQueen, who is the subject of this year's exhibit. McQueen made headlines last week when it was revealed that Kate Middleton wore one of his designs for her wedding with Prince William.

A number of celebrities, such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Salma Hayek chose to wore creations by McQueen to the ball. Many of the other celebrities opted for other designers.

Taylor Swift wore J.Mendel, while Kristen Stewart wore a gown by Proenza Schouler. Emma Stone stuck to her usually funky style with a dress by Lanvin.

Gwyneth Paltrow chose a sophisticated yet sexy Stella McCartney dress. Rihanna, Madonna and Kate Hudson were also wearing Stella McCartney.

American Idol judge choset to wear a hot pink Gucci dress while Beyonce opted for a dress by Emilio Pucci. Check out some of the fashion from the Met Ball below.
