Céline Dion is an international superstar, most recently seen taking on the role as a celebrity advisor on the NBC series “The Voice.” The songstress is the voice behind numerous hit records that tug at the heart strings and has managed to acquire a large sum of money over the years for her talents.

On Thursday, Dion will ring in her 49th birthday, and as the celebration begins let’s take a look back on how the star acquired her wealth.

The singer, who was born Céline Marie Claudette Dion, is reportedly worth $380 million, according to Forbes. The artist initially started out as a teen singer thanks to her late husband, Rene Angelil, who came along and paid for her first record, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Many may recall first hearing Dion in the early ‘90s when she shot to international success after recording the “Beauty and the Beast” duet with Peabo Bryson. By 1996, Dion’s song “Because You Loved Me” served as the theme song for the film “Up Close & Personal.”

The song became a worldwide success with the singer winning two Grammys as well as receiving nominations for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.

Dion went on to release “My Heart Will Go On” which was featured on her “Let's Talk About Love” album and became the theme song to the 1997 movie “Titanic.” The movie was the first film to gross more than $1 billion at the box office. For her vocal talents on the record, Dion picked up an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and two Grammy Awards.

By 2003, the songstress began her Las Vegas residency where she has since picked up around $260 million, according to a 2016 report. Throughout her career, Dion has sold more than 220 million records and made millions of dollars from touring and performing her hits songs.

In 2016, it was reported that Dion was made the official administrator of her late husband’s estate. At the time, Dion had two properties up for sale, a $25 million castle in Quebec, Canada, and a $45 million estate in Florida.

In all, it looks like 49 is shaping up to be a good year for the singer. She has her wealth, children, hit records and after decades of being in the entertainment industry, Dion is still regarded as one of the nicest people in show business.
