After just returning from a suspension, Chelsea’s John Terry scored the Blues only goal but was taken off the field on a stretcher with a knee injury Sunday in a 1-1 result against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
Terry had served a four-game suspension for racial abuse, and came back to score with a header off a corner kick. About 18 minutes later, Terry collided with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and injured his knee. It is currently unknown how serious the injury is.
Suarez would later tie the game with a header of his own right in front of the net in the 78th minute to cap the scoring.
The Reds dominated the time of possession, and were also called offsides seven times. Liverpool were also booked for three yellow cards, all in the second half.
The draw keeps Chelsea in third place in the Premier League, and three points behind leader Manchester United. Liverpool are in 13th place.
