Chelsea are set to make a final offer for Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku, having seen their previous bid rejected of £17.7 million rejected by the Belgian side.

With Falcao signing a new contract at Porto, the Blues are keen to land the 18-year-old Lukaku, who is seen as the long term replacement for Didier Drogba.

According to a report in The People, Chelsea are set to make a final offer of around £22 million for the Belgian starlet, and despite it being well off Anderlecht's valuation of £30 million, the London side are confident that the bid can seal the deal.

New boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen on signing the youngster, and if successful, Lukaku could be his second signing as the Blues have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Genk goalkeeper Courtois.

The report goes on to say that Chelsea will bid for Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Alan Gatagov, after owner Roman Abramovich sanctioned the move. The Russian Under-21 international is rated at around £5m but the Blues will attempt to capture him for less.
