Chelsea star Didier Drogba could be tempted into an unprecedented move to Russia with reports suggesting Anzhi Makhachkala has offered him £10 million-a-year in wages.

The Ivoirian striker has been stalling on signing a new contract at Chelsea, despite the club insisting they want him to stay. The London side is prepared to offer him only a year's contract extension, as it is their policy on players over 30, while the 33-year-old Drogba wants a two-year deal.

Drogba has found opportunities hard to come by at Chelsea this term, as Fernando Torres seems to be preferred by Andre Villas-Boas while Nicholas Anelka, Daniel Sturridge, Salomon Kalou and Romelu Lukaku competing for places up front.

Russian side Anzhi, backed by billionaire businessman Suleyman Kerimov, signed a bunch of quality internationals during the summer, including Samuel Eto'o from Inter Milan, whose earnings of £15.6 million make him the most paid player in world football.

Drogba is the latest in their wish-list and according to the Daily Mail, the player would prefer staying at Chelsea but will listen to other clubs if he doesn't receive a firm offer from the club.
