Chester Bennington, a singer from rock band Linkin Park, has died. The 41-year-old reportedly committed suicide.

According to TMZ, Bennington hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates, California, where his body was discovered just before 9 a.m. this morning.

Bennington is survived by his six children, Jaime, with former girlfriend Elka Brand, adopted son Isaiah, son Draven with first wife Samantha Marie Olit, as well as children Tyler Lee and twins Lily and Lila with his second wife, Talinda Ann Bentley.

Bentley has not yet spoken out about her husband’s death, though she did take to social media earlier this month to share a photo of herself and one of their daughters, saying that they missed him while he was away on tour, and were thinking about him.

Bentley and Bennington married in 2005, shortly after his divorce from Olit was finalized. They lived together in Gilbert, Arizona, with their children.

Their first year of marriage saw the couple plagued by a cyberstalker, who sent bizarre emails to Bentley not long after she and Bennington had married. Among them, according to Wired in 2007, were ones claiming the sender was “happy” for them before linking to a web site run by his ex, dark inferences about Talinda’s own dating history, and others which indicated the sender knew she was home alone during times her husband was on tour. The situation later escalated to creepy phone calls, as well as bizarre emails sent out from Talinda’s own account, ones she never had written.

At the time, Talinda admitted she didn't know who she could trust, except for her husband.

“I didn’t know who to trust. I literally only trusted my husband. Our family and closest friends were all suspects,” she said.

The stalker was later identified as Devon Townsend, who was sentenced in 2008 to two years in prison.

The rest of the pair’s marriage seemed to go along much smoother and happier. They had welcomed their son, Tyler, during the drama in 2006, and had twins, Lily and Lila, in 2011.

Bentley often took to Twitter to share happy messages and moments with her husband, including ones from this past June. She referred to him as the “man of her dreams” in a post from Father’s Day, where she also thanked him for being a great father to their children.

She also shared a video of him smiling as he walked towards her during a Linkin Park performance later in the month.

According to the TMZ report of his death, Bennington has admitted to a struggle with drugs and alcohol in the past, and also said he considered committing suicide after he was abused as a young child by an older male.

He was also very close to Soundgarden musician Chris Cornell, who also committed suicide by hanging back in May. After Cornell’s death, Bennington had taken to social media to share a message for his deceased friend.

Bennington’s suicide also took place on what would have been Cornell's 53rd birthday.

Update 3:41 p.m.: Bennington's bandmate, Mike Shinoda, has confirmed his death on Twitter, writing, "Shocked and heartbroken, but it's true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one."
