Chicago PMI Rise Above Expectations

The Chicago PMI was released today from the United States, where the index rose to 60.0 from the prior reported estimate of 56.1 and well above median estimates of 55.1, as the prices paid index rose slightly to 54.9 from 52.6, while the production index rose to 65.8 from 57.6, new orders also rose to 63.5 from 62.8, while inventories rose to 39.4 from 34.9, and employment rose to 51.2 from 41.9 reported back in November.
