China Clean Energy, Inc., a developer, manufacturer and distributor of biodiesel and specialty chemical products made from renewable resources in The People’s Republic of China, recently announced that the company has appointed William Chen as chief financial officer, effective February 1, 2010. Replacing Ms. Shannon Yan, who resigned on January 31, 2010 to pursue other career opportunities, Mr. Chen will leverage his expertise in the U.S. capital market and strengthen China Clean Energy’s profile as a U.S.-listed company.
Prior to joining China Clean Energy as vice president of investor relations on December 3, 2009, Mr. Chen worked as a financial analyst at Wealth Transition Planning LLC, a comprehensive financial services firm in New York. Mr. Chen possesses a wealth of experience in accounting and financial analysis and also served as the director assistant at EKN Financial Service. Mr. Chen earned his Bachelor’s degree in finance and investment from Baruch College and is currently working towards an MBA degree.
Mr. Tai-ming Ou, China Clean Energy’s chairman and chief executive officer, stated, “We are confident that William’s transition to chief financial officer will enhance our financial reporting, and improve our communication with the investment community.” Mr. Tai-ming Ou continued, “We would also like to thank Shannon for her significant contribution to improving our internal controls and reporting procedures and overseeing the implementation of our Sarbanes-Oxley compliance processes.”
