China is set to announce consumer and wholesale price index numbers for April, headlining a light day for Asian economic news. Analysts are predicting a decline of 1.4 percent on year for consumer inflation, following the 1.2 percent annual decline in March. PPI is forecast to show a 6.3 percent decline on year after the 6 percent annual fall in the previous month.

Malaysia will provide industrial production figures for March, with forecasts calling for a 15 percent decline on year following the 14.7 percent annual contraction in the previous month.

Also, the Malaysian stock market is closed on Monday in observance of Wesak Day. It will re-open on Tuesday.
