China's national Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced today that the Country has closed down small thermal-power units by 4.7 million kilowatts until April 15 this year.

NDRC's said on its website that the newly closed thermal-power units can save 7.1 million tons coal, 120,000 tons of sulphur-dioxide emissions and 14.2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, which will play a positive role to save energy and protect environment.
