The Chinese economy released the annualized consumer price index reading for the year ended March 31, which released with an actual reading 5.4%, came higher than a previous 4.9% a year earlier, while the market's expectations estimated of 5.2%.

China's PPI increased 7.3% in the first three months of the year, from 7.2% a year earlier, and the actual reading came better than analysts' forecasts that estimated of 7.2%.
