China's trade balance surplus narrowed to $14.51 billion during the month of September, compared with a previous surplus of $17.76 billion in August, and the actual reading came lower than the anticipated surplus of $16.40 billion.

Exports declined to 17.1% during the year ended September, from 24.5% a year earlier, and forecasts referred to 20.5%. On the other hand, imports (YoY) slid to 20.9% in September, lower than expected 23.8% and the prior reading 30.2%.
