Add Chris Bosh to the star-studded list of players that could test free agency in the 2017 NBA offseason. The two-time champion and the Miami Heat have reportedly reached an agreement, allowing Bosh to sign with another team.

Bosh didn’t play at all in the 2016-2017 season because of blood clot issues, which forced him to miss much of the previous season. He’s owed $52 million over the final two years of his contract, but it appears that the two sides and the players’ association have struck a deal which will allow Bosh to get paid while not impacting Miami’s salary cap.

It’s unknown if Bosh will be cleared to play in the NBA again, though he has expressed hopes of returning to the court. He averaged 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds in 53 games during the 2015-2016 season and he made the All-Star team in each year from 2006-2016.

If Bosh is able to play next season, here are three teams that he could potentially join:

Boston Celtics

The Celtics probably make the most sense as a landing spot for Bosh. Aside from the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, no team in the NBA has a brighter outlook over the next five years than Boston. With the No.1 pick in the 2017 draft and probably another top-five pick in 2018, the Celtics are in the unique position of being able to get elite young talent while competing with the league’s best teams.

Boston isn’t a legitimate championship contender at the moment, but as the No.1 seed in the East, they might be just one player away. Gordon Hayward has been the free-agent most closely linked with the Celtics, but Bosh could help give Boston the East’s top frontcourt, making them much more of a threat to James and the Cavs than they are in this year’s Eastern Conference Finals.

Houston Rockets

Bosh would be a perfect fit for Houston’s style of basketball. As a true three-point threat that can play a fast-paced style of basketball, he is an ideal stretch-5 for a team that takes more shots from behind the arc than anyone else. Bosh could thrive with James Harden running the offense, improving a team that had the third-best record in the NBA.

It wasn’t too long ago that Bosh almost signed with Houston. Growing up not far away in Dallas, there were rumors in 2014 that the big man was going to leave the Heat for the Rockets as a free agent. Bosh ultimately turned Houston down, not wanting the pressure of forming another “Big 3” with Harden and Dwight Howard, but that’s no longer an issue, now that Howard is with the Atlanta Hawks.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Looking at a potential Bosh-Cleveland marriage on paper, a bunch of reasons stand out why it will never happen. The Cavs have absolutely no cap space with James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson signed to long-term contracts, and the Cavs don’t exactly need to add another frontcourt player with Love and Thompson thriving for Cleveland.

But Cleveland is always a potential landing spot for veteran free agents looking to win a ring, and Bosh already has a close personal relationship with the team’s leader. Bosh has made well over $100 million in his career, and finding a way to reunite with James while taking a massive pay cut can’t be ruled out.
