Chris Brown has reportedly given ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran a hefty lump sum a week after their public breakup.

"Chris wants to set her up financially and do right by her -- he wants her to stay in his life if possible," a source told British tabloid the Sun.

The singer said last Thursday in a statement, according to TMZ, "I don't want to see her [Tran] hurt over my friendship with Rihanna.”

While in New York earlier this month, Rihanna and Brown were seen hanging out together several days in a row, at nightclubs and at Jay-Z’s performance at Barclays Center.

Afterwards, Brown released a video where he shares his feelings about the realities of love — and asks if it is possible to be in love with two women at once.

"Is there such thing as loving two people? I don’t know if that’s possible, but for me, I feel like that,” Brown admits in a video titled “The Real Chris Brown.”

Brown is seen in the minute and a half video reflecting on his relationship with Barbadian beauty Rihanna as well on as his relationship with Tran. Brown and Tran were together for close to two years.

The Sun newspaper also reported that Tran and Rihanna had a conversation with one another regarding Brown. "Rihanna called Karrueche for a proper heart-to-heart. They needed to air a few problems."

"The girls talked for close to two hours. Rih answered all of the questions and Karrueche had a few home truths to tell her."

Meanwhile, Tran was spotted leaving Brown’s home Monday morning dressed in the same clothes she was wearing hours earlier during a night of partying with her girlfriends.

It is possible the pair are not yet over each other, though Tran had recently tweeted in regards to their breaking up “All I’m saying is … You don’t mess with people’s genuine feelings. You just don’t! Life moves on ... So let’s all.”
