Rumors have been flying about Rihanna and Chris Brown getting back together, and RiRi is clearly happy to keep fanning them. This week, Elle magazine released a short film in which Rihanna plays a passion-struck abuse victim in 1950s Cuba. And get this -- in the end, she goes back to the guy who hit her!

The video, featured below, shows a flirtatious Rihanna, taking her tube top off to reveal a bra and dancing seductively in her window to Caribbean beats and a young man dancing outside. A voiceover in Spanish says, Back then, I had no doubts or worries.

But then the mood changes. It's like a drug, the voiceover says. The passion. Taking risks. And then the camera cuts back, and, although you can't see it, you get the sense that the man hits Rihanna's character -- and she immediately gets out of the car. It's like the devil is waiting in the dark to change you, the ominous voice intones in Spanish.

The parallels to that infamous night three years ago after the Grammy Awards show are obvious -- the only difference is that the car in the film is from the 1950s.

As if that isn't shocking enough, at the end of the short film, Rihanna goes back to the man who presumably hit her! Keep going, no regrets, the voiceover says. The phone keeps ringing, and, in the end, she goes outside to dance with the man again.

Trying to tell us something, Rihanna?

When Chris Brown and Rihanna announced their new musical collaborations -- the first since Brown pled guilty to assaulting Rihanna back in 2009 -- and were seen candoodling at Rihanna's Beverly Hills Valentine's Day bash, the public consensus was definitively against the couple getting back together.

And it looks like friends of Chris Brown and Rihanna feel the same way. In a TMZ exclusive, the gossip site quoted sources close to the couple as saying that friends of Rihanna and Brown are desperately trying to keep them apart. (However, it might be too late for that -- Us Weekly said the stars have been together for nearly a year.)

TMZ also corroborated what Bill Zwecker at the Chicago Sun-Times said about Rihanna being the one who pursued the relationship this go-round, writing that Rihanna is still head over heels for Chris and that if it weren't for the media and her fans -- referring to the so-called Rihanna Navy -- she would already have taken him back -- publicly?
