Brown, 20, publicly apologized for beating Rihanna is expected to be sentenced on August 27.
A judge has said she wants Brown, who will likely be allowed to serve his probation in his home state of Virginia, to do work that is comparable to graffiti removal or roadside cleanup, the Associated Press reported.
Brown has also been ordered by the judge to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna, 21, for the next five years.
In the singer's public apology to Rihanna he described his actions as inexcusable and pledged to do better.
