Chris Brown skipped daughter Royalty's first birthday party due to previous work commitments, various websites have reported. Royalty's mother, Nia Guzman, told TMZ that Brown only called his daughter to wish her a happy birthday -- he did not send any gift and also shied away from contributing to the cost of the birthday party held at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant.

The bill, Guzman said, was paid by her current boyfriend, King Ba, who is also listed as the father of Royalty on her birth certificate. Ba, who is also sometimes referred to as Brazil, took a dig at Brown's absence from party by posting a picture from Royalty's birthday on Instagram. "Wouldn't Miss This Day For Anything In This World," Ba wrote on his private Instagram profile, TMZ said.

According to the website, Brown was in Miami, busy shooting a music video with Pitbull. He also tried to FaceTime with Royalty but there were network issues, said the website. However, the rapper posted several pictures of Royalty on his Instagram and even wrote her a sweet message. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LIL LADY ROYALTY!!!! I Love u,” Brown wrote along with a cake emoji. He even posted a picture of the little girl with cake on her face. The toddler wore pink dress that had “1” written in gold.

Guzman and Brown are currently fighting for custody of Royalty. The rapper was initially paying Guzman $2,500 a month for Royalty's expenses. However, he stopped the payments in March because Guzman reportedly demanded a $15,000 monthly allowance.

In a cryptic message posted on Instagram on Thursday, the 26-year-old rapper admitted that he suffers from self-hate. Brown called himself “Konfuzed” and said he has “being a dog” sometimes in past. In a long message, the rapper wrote that he is aware of the “concept of love.” But now he has realized that “fame and Money can get in the way of that.”

“I can't speak for everyone but I can say that my actions contributed a lot to my karma,” the rapper wrote, adding that he was very “jealous and angry and controlling” in past. “There has been times where I looked in the mirror and hated the person I see,” he wrote.
