“Bachelor in Paradise” Season 4 is set to premiere on Aug. 14. Ahead of its return, show host Chris Harrison is spilling the beans on some changes that took place following the scandal involving cast members DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios. The “Bachelor” presenter also dished on why they did not change everything after the controversy.

Opening up to The Hollywood Reporter, Harrison admitted that they indeed learned some lessons from the incident. However, he insisted that no unforgivable mistakes actually happened. “We’ve really learned from our mistakes, but there really weren’t any major mistakes made,” Harrison said.

The 46-year-old also talked about the expectations of viewers regarding how they modified the show following the controversy. “I think publicly everyone is going to want us to come out and say, ‘We’ve changed everything!’ and that it will be earth shattering,” Harrison stated. He then claimed that fans will better understand the contentious situation when “Bachelor in Paradise” airs because the alleged scandal will play out on the reality series.

The sexual assault claim is already a thing of the past after Warner Bros. found no basis to prove the allegation. Nevertheless, the company implemented new rules when production resumed. Some of the new guidelines include limiting alcohol consumption and enforcing certain prohibitions regarding sexual activity, as per Us Weekly.

Speaking on the new two-drink-per-hour guideline, Harrison said, “As far as alcohol goes, that's never been a big thing for us. That's a big misconception of the show — that we push it, and that we need it and we want it. But that really doesn't help us. Someone being sloppy drunk and being out of it does not give us good television.”

Harrison revealed that all of these new rules will be discussed at one point in the series. “We’re going to talk about rules and talk about certain things and have a dialogue,” he said, before noting that fans will certainly not see “major changes” despite what happened.

“Yes, we’ve made some changes but if you talk to the cast, they’ve always been the most important thing to us — taking care of them and their safety,” Harrison quipped.
