Perri and Costabile’s engagement just came a day after her powerful 2011 single, “Arms,” made a comeback in the iTunes Top 40 following Evie Clair’s emotional performance of the song on “America’s Got Talent,” Entertainment Tonight reported.

According to Claire, she sang Perri’s “Arms” for her dad, who is suffering from stage four colon cancer. “I sing him this song to help him feel better, and just to give him comfort and strength to continue fighting,” she said during her audition.

The “Human” singer announced this good news on her Instagram, sharing a screenshot of her song sitting on the 26th spot on iTunes. “ARMS just made a light comeback to the top 40 on itunes! how fun! thanks everyone,” Perri wrote in the caption.

She also did not forget to extend her gratitude to Claire on Twitter. “Hi, @evieclair! thanks so much for choosing my song for this special moment in ur life! ur incredible! im sending so much love to u & dad,” she wrote.

In an interview with Mirror, Perri gave a short background about “Arms.” “It’s about the battle you have with yourself when you fall in love,” she explained. “I wrote it two summers ago while refusing to let this guy love me, based on the fear that I’m not loveable or worthy of this. It’s a song about letting go.”

Perri was previously married to a video producer, whom she declined to name. It was a whirlwind romance, and their marriage was shortlived. She was only 21 years old when she got married and 22 when she divorced him. According to her, they had eloped, and looking back, it didn’t make sense to her at all.
