Peter Pan
Christopher Walken's performance in NBC's "Peter Pan Live" was one of the most talked about topics on Twitter. NBC

Christopher Walken might have been described as an aged Jack Sparrow in his portrayal of Captain Hook for NBC's “Peter Pan Live,” but being an entertainment icon comes with its perks. It seems that Walken, 71, could do no wrong overall.

His narrow-range singing was well received and even though the Academy Award winner couldn’t match the high kicks of the other pirates, plenty of Twitter users were thrilled to see him attempt tap dancing, even if he looked disengaged at times.

Even The Soup, which pokes fun at television shows, said it would not say anything bad about Walken’s dancing.

Of course many desperately wanted to see him ask for more cowbell.

Like with the “Sound of Music Live” with Carrie Underwood, many watchers were critical of “Peter Pan Live.” Yet, some argued Walken saved the show.

It’s not that Walken evaded all criticism. One of the main hits against him had to do with his makeup.

Another critique was that it seemed like he didn’t want to be there.
