Chynna Phillips was given the boot Tuesday night after a disappointing performance on Monday's Dancing with the Stars. The 43-year-old singer completely forgot her routine during the Mission Impossible tango performance with professional dancer, Tony Dovolani, 38.

I drew a blank [during the dance] and it was just one of those things, Phillips told Us Weekly after her elimination. It's like taking a math test and you know all the answers and all of a sudden you go blank. We worked really really hard for that dance and somehow it just unraveled.

I saw the frightened look in her face and I just wanted to calm her down. It's a live show, things happen, Dovolani explained. Blackouts have happened to all of us, and the thing is, she finished the routine.

The judges gave Phillips and Dovolani 21 points out of a possible 30, earning the lowest score in the thirteenth season's fourth episode. Their performance came as a shock considering Phillips and Dovolani had topped the leaderboard for the past three episodes.

I'm disappointed, Phillips said on leaving the show. I'm sad, but I have to take responsibility. I messed up.

Dovolani, however, did not seem to blame Phillips.

I am so proud of Chynna, he told Us Weekly Tuesday. I feel like the rug got taken from under us because she had so much potential and I was having such a blast this season.

Phillips claims that everything happens for a reason.

It's okay, she told People. I've got so many blessings in my life.

After all, Dancing with the Stars seemed to be more than just for fun.

It saved my butt! Phillips told George Stephanopolous on Good Morning America Tuesday.

Chynna Phillips is the fourth contestant eliminated following Elisabetta Canalis, Kristin Cavallari and Metta World Peace (known formerly as Ron Artest).

Eight stars now remain on Dancing with the Stars, including David Arquette, Chaz Bono, Nancy Grace, Rob Kardashian, Carson Kressley, Ricki Lake, J.R. Martinez and Hope Solo.
