CIA Chief's Name Revealed By Pakistani Political Party Letter Protesting Drone Strikes: Report

A Pakistani political party Wednesday named what it claims is the CIA’s highest-ranking officer in the country, reports the Washington Post.

The move was prompted out of the party’s protests of a CIA drone strike that occurred last week. The strike killed up to six people and it was believed that the agency possibly planned the strike to target a religious school. The name was included in a letter that requested Pakistani police stationed in the region where the strike happened to pursue charges against the agency’s director, John Brennan, and the CIA officers currently in the country.

In the letter, the CIA is accused of “committing murder and waging war against Pakistan,” reports the Post. It was signed by a senior official of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf -- a party led by Imran Khan. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been outspoken against drone strikes by the U.S.

A CIA spokesman would not comment on the letter or confirm if the name mentioned in the letter written by the party was correct.
